The wet oven

The wet stove is a rock cave on the North side of Bornholm, but in the Diamond Spa the wet stove has been recreated as a fantastic sauna, where the steam is released through small rock peaks. As the steam rises, the light in the sauna slowly changes. First, the golden rays of the sunrise hit you. Then the light level rises until it fades at sunset. The light therapy combined with the hot steam gives you a unique de-stressing effect. In addition, steam acts mentally "liberating" and relieves any muscle tension.

The dry oven

Unlike the The Wet Oven, which provides a moist heat, you must experience the dry heat in "The Dry Oven". The Finnish wooden sauna gets between 70 and 80 degrees hot. Dry and strong heat combined with an ice-cold shower provides a wonderful experience and start circulation of the body.

Edge zones

In the middle of Bornholm is the Fennoscandian border zone. Once upon a time, millions of years ago, the polished and hard granite topped with the softer sandstone. The age difference between the two rock types is 1.2 billion years. In the rock sauna at The Diamond Spa this edge zone has been recreated. A tile line in the sauna floor makes it possible to stand with one foot in each age. A time difference of 1.2 billion years gives the sauna experience a new and extra dimension. The edge zone is a combination of the traditional Finnish sauna and steam bath, but at a lower temperature. The sauna gets about 60 degrees hot.

The chicken hen

The chicken hen is a giant rock, which is located on top of other smaller rocks a little south of Aakirkeby in the middle of Bornholm. The rock formation resembles a hen lying on eggs. The giant stone, the story tells, was thrown by a Swedish troll to hit a Bornholm church, but either the troll hit badly, or the large ice age masses brought the stone here from northern Sweden, we don’t know. In the Diamond Spa at Griffen Spahotel the chicken hen is a special and different sauna, which does not heat the air, but rather the surroundings - and in this case it is not chickens, but you who feel the gentle and soothing heat that the infrared cabin sauna creates. The sauna experience also has a strengthening effect on the circulation, as it increases blood flow.

Cascades of water & hot water pool

Stand in front of the waterfall, pull the rope and let cascades of water splash down over your back and neck. Tensions in the neck and shoulders soften when streams of warm water cascade down the neck and head. In the center of the basin, the underground geyser gently presses the water against your feet. Continue to the wave-shaped sunbeds in the hot tub and relax while enjoying the starry sky in the ceiling.

Ice & hot steam

Man was created to cope with significant fluctuations from severe frosts to tropical heat. In the Diamond Spa your body can experience both. In the Kneipp basins, the water alternates between 0 degrees and tropical heat. You can also massage the body with ice from the ice fountain, which drips fresh ice into the millions of years old granite bowl. When the body alternates between hot steam and ice-cold water, your immune system increases. After being warm-up in the saunas, your blood vessels dilate. Therefore, the greatest effect is obtained by subsequent cooling in cold water from the tilting bucket, a cold shower or a dip in the cold water well.

Crystal lake whirlpool

Enjoy a glass of champagne in the large, outdoor Crystal lake whirlpool with sea views, while the sun slowly sets in the horizon behind you. The bubbles from the jets in the whirlpool massage your body and make you completely relaxed.

Comfortable furniture invites you to relax both indoors and outdoors in the Diamond Spa. The journey through hot and cold water, steam, ice and relaxation gives your body and soul wonderful impressions. In the spa's self-service- bar you can pick up fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juices, juices and ice water free of charge. It is possible to buy other drinks as well as warm panini - you just need to contact your spa hostess / spa host.

• Use of the spa area may only take place after careful soaping of the entire body and subsequent showering. Tanning oils etc. must be washed off in the same way before bathing in the spa area.
• The toilet must be used before washing off.
• After each visit to the toilet, washing must be done again.
• Swimwear must be clean.
• Outdoor footwear may only be used in the designated areas.
• People with foot warts or athlete's foot may only use the spa area if they are being treated for the disease in question.
• People with infectious jaundice (hepatitis) must be declared healthy by the attending physician before bathing can be permitted.
• People suffering from other infectious diseases diseases (winter vomiting disease, colds, sore throat, ear infection and skin inflammation) may not use the spa area.
• The spa area may not be used by people who cannot hold urine or faeces.
• The hotel's general rules of order must be followed.

• Overnight guests at Griffen Spahotel have free access to the Diamond Spa every day of the week.
• Non-overnight guests can buy entrance to the Diamond Spa Sunday to Thursday for DKK 500, - pr. person.

Price for 5-trip card for the Diamond Spa

You can buy a 5-trip card for the Diamond Spa. The cut card is not personal and can thus easily be used by several people.

Spa-package

• When staying at the Griffen Spahotel, you will find a bathrobe and slippers in your room on arrival. Towels are provided in the spa area. When you visit the spa as a non-overnight guest, you will receive a spa package at the reception. There is always ice water, coffee, tea, juice and fresh fruit ad libitum at your disposal in the Diamond Spa. You have the opportunity to buy other drinks as well as warm paninis in the spa area. Just contact your spa hostess / spa host.
• Remember to bring your own swimwear.

Age limit
You must be at least 16 years old to have access  to the Diamond Spa.
